NAD+

/Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide/

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD⁺) is a coenzyme found in all living cells. It plays a role in many biological processes, including energy metabolism and cellular function. NAD⁺ exists in both oxidised (NAD⁺) and reduced (NADH) forms, and contributes to the conversion of nutrients into energy within the body.

NAD⁺ is also involved in processes such as DNA repair and the regulation of cellular activity.

Why NAD⁺ via IV Therapy?

IV administration allows for direct delivery of NAD⁺ into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. This method may achieve higher serum concentrations compared to oral supplementation.

All IVT Sydney services are delivered following a clinical consultation to determine individual suitability. NAD⁺ IV infusions are available in various doses (250mg – 1000mg) and are prepared in line with appropriate clinical protocols.

What to Expect

Before Your Infusion
We recommend staying well-hydrated and having a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment. Some clients prefer a fasted state — in this case, we recommend water only for 4–6 hours prior.

NAD⁺ IV infusions are not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those with liver, kidney, or heart conditions.

During Your Infusion
NAD⁺ infusions may take between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the dose and individual comfort. Some people may experience mild, temporary sensations such as:

  • Flushing or warmth

  • Tingling or muscle tightness

  • Light-headedness

  • A sense of heaviness in the body or chest

These effects typically subside by slowing the drip rate. Our clinicians monitor each client closely and adjust as needed.

Post-Infusion
We recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 72 hours after your infusion, as alcohol may interfere with metabolic processes and hydration.

Some clients choose to complement NAD⁺ IV therapy with a tailored nutrient blend to support hydration and comfort following the infusion.

Why Might Someone Choose NAD⁺ IV Therapy?

NAD⁺ supports a range of physiological processes, including:

  • Contributing to energy production at a cellular level (ATP synthesis)

  • Supporting metabolic activity

  • Participating in the regulation of circadian rhythm and sleep cycles

  • Assisting in normal DNA repair and cellular turnover

  • Helping maintain the function of the nervous and muscular systems

Some individuals choose NAD⁺ IV therapy as part of a wellness routine during times of increased physical demand, travel, or when focusing on lifestyle-related goals. All IVT Sydney services are personalised based on an individual health consultation.

Scientific Context

NAD⁺ continues to be studied in clinical and experimental settings. While some emerging research has explored its role in areas like ageing, metabolism, and neurological health, these applications remain investigational and are not approved therapeutic uses under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

To learn more, you may wish to review current literature on NAD⁺ and cellular metabolism from reputable academic sources.
