Understanding Vitamin Ingredients

Vitamins, minerals, and nutrients play essential roles in maintaining normal bodily functions. While many nutrients are obtained through diet, some may require supplementation under clinical guidance.

Intravenous (IV) therapy provides direct delivery of these nutrients into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system, which can improve absorption efficiency.

At IVT Sydney, we prioritise transparency and clinical care. Below is a list of the ingredients commonly included in our IV infusions, selected based on individual assessments to support your health needs.

Minerals and Nutrients

Minerals are inorganic elements vital for various bodily functions, while nutrients are essential substances that provide energy, support growth, and facilitate metabolic processes.

  • Magnesium – Supports muscle and nerve function, and helps regulate blood pressure.

  • Zinc – Plays a role in immune function and cellular metabolism.

  • Selenium – Acts as an antioxidant and supports thyroid function.

  • Choline – Important for liver function, brain development, and muscle movement.

  • IV Fluids (Hartmann’s and Sodium Chloride) – Used as the base solutions to safely deliver nutrients and maintain hydration.

Vitamins

Vitamins are organic compounds necessary for development, metabolism, and normal bodily function.

  • Vitamin C – Supports collagen formation and acts as an antioxidant.

  • Vitamin D – Important for calcium absorption and bone health.

  • Inositol – Involved in cell membrane formation and signalling pathways.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and play critical roles in metabolism and cellular function.

  • Glutathione – A key antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

  • GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) – Functions as a neurotransmitter involved in relaxation.

  • L-Arginine – Supports nitric oxide production and vascular health.

  • L-Carnitine – Involved in energy production by transporting fatty acids into mitochondria.

  • L-Glutamine – Supports gut health and immune function.

  • L-Lysine – Important for protein synthesis and tissue repair.

  • L-Methionine – Plays a role in metabolism and detoxification.

  • L-Ornithine – Involved in the urea cycle and ammonia detoxification.

  • Taurine – Supports cardiovascular and neurological health.

  • Glycine – Functions as an inhibitory neurotransmitter and in collagen synthesis.

  • Serine – Important for metabolism and synthesis of other amino acids.

B Vitamins

The B vitamin complex consists of eight essential nutrients that support metabolism and are crucial for the nervous, cardiovascular, and other systems.

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

  • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)

  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

  • Vitamin B7 (Biotin)

  • Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)

  • B-Complex – A combination of B vitamins tailored to individual needs.
